This wiki has the PDFEmbed extension installed, which allows pages to embed PDF files via the <pdf> tag. In addition to specifying the dimensions of the file, you can also choose a specific page of the PDF to start on.
As an example, the file File:MediaWiki User Guide.pdf is embedded below, using <pdf width="1000" height="1200">File:MediaWiki_User_Guide.pdf</pdf>. Additionally, PDFEmbed demo/Go to page shows using the page="" parameter to start on a specific page of the PDF, and PDFEmbed demo/PDF template shows embedding a PDF using a template that also adds a "download" button.
