While the name of this extension is "SpamBlacklist" and configuration is controlled by "blacklist"s and "whitelist"s, such terms present issues of inclusivity. The extension is being considered for renaming, see T254649. |
This wiki has the SpamBlacklist extension installed, which prevents edits that add links from a specific list, or registration by accounts with emails from a specific list.
These lists can be configured on each wiki, using
- MediaWiki:Spam-blacklist
- MediaWiki:Spam-whitelist
- MediaWiki:Email-blacklist
- MediaWiki:Email-whitelist
By default, however, the extension will also load all of the prohibited links from the "Meta-Wiki" at metawikimedia:Spam blacklist, which may be enough without adding any additional local exclusions.
For example, many URL shorteners are prohibited by the list on meta. Thus, the link https://tinyurl.com/bdhdyhn3 could not be added to the links on the page. The raw text can be added, however, as long as it is done in a way that the parser does not consider to be a link (in which case the output is just the text and not a working link).
Feel free to try to add it to the Public:Sandbox.
